Mr. Genet is Of Counsel with the Firm, and focuses his practice on corporate insolvency/bankruptcy, financial frauds and commercial litigation.  He has represented corporate debtors and alleged debtors, creditors, creditors’ committees and trustees in state and federal insolvency proceedings, often stemming from financial frauds and Ponzi schemes.  Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Genet served as the Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Robert A. Mark, Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida. 

In addition to his professional legal experience, Mr. Genet was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Miami School of Law and the St. Thomas Aquinas School of Law.  He has also lectured extensively, and published numerous articles, on bankruptcy and real estate related issues. 

Moreover, Mr. Genet is very involved in professional, community and charitable organizations.  Mr. Genet is the Chair of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation 2009 Real Estate Speaker Series, the Zone VI Vice President of the Florida Land Title Association and a founding member of the Miami-Dade County Mortgage Fraud Task Force.  He is on the Board of Directors for the Miami Beach Police Athletic League and is the Vice Chair of the Miami Beach Cultural Arts Council. 

Education -

Mr. Genet received his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law, where he was an associate editor of the University of Miami Law Review.  He received his B.A. degree from Yeshiva University.

Bar Admission

Mr. Genet is a member of the Florida Bar, authorized to practice before the Florida State courts and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.  He is also a member of the New York Bar, admitted to practice before New York State Courts and the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Expert Witness

Mr. Genet was certified as an expert witness and testified in Miami-Dade County Circuit Court, in the matter of Koping v. Collie, Case NO. 07-4989-CA-01.
