Mr. Budwick has significant Chapter 11 reorganization experience. He has represented debtors, creditors and trustees in cases involving a wide range of industries including telecommunications, manufacturing, healthcare and real estate development.

Mr. Budwick's expertise includes financial fraud and ponzi scheme cases. He has been appointed federal receiver in the case of In re: Phoenix Investments, Inc. (a $19 million "ponzi" scheme). He has represented trustees, receivers, creditors and investors in some of the largest, most high profile financial fraud cases in South Florida including In re: Premium Sales Corporation, In re: Evergreen Security, Ltd., In re: Lancer Partners, L.P., In re: Model Imperial, Inc., In re: Pheonix Diversified Investment Corporation, In re: Rothstein Rosenfeldt Adler P.A. and In re: Palm Beach Finance Partners, L.P.

Mr. Budwick represented Supra Telecommunications and Information Systems, Inc. in its chapter 11 proceedings. He successfully confirmed a plan of reorganization that enabled the largest CLEC in Florida to continue to service over 250,000 customers and employ over 1,000 individuals, while developing the infrastructure to support future growth.  Mr. Budwick represented the successful purchaser of the assets of Pan American Hospital at a judicial auction conducted pursuant to a Chapter 11 proceeding.  Pan American Hospital operated as a not-for-profit acute-care hospital with over 850 employees and 146 licensed beds.

Mr. Budwick represented the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors and Plan Administrator in the Puig, Inc. Chapter 11 bankruptcy, recovering over $10 million for the estate pursuing usury, professional negligence, fraudulent transfer and lender liability claims.  Puig was the first significant condominium converter Chapter 11 filing in Miami in 2007.  Mr. Budwick also represents the Committee in In re: Cabi Downtown, LLC, a Chapter 11 involving a 749 unit luxury project located in downtown Miami with over $200 million in debt (also known as Everglades by the Bay).

Much of Mr. Budwick’s practice involves litigating avoidance and tort claims against financial institutions on behalf of real estate developers or victims of financial frauds.

Mr. Budwick resides in Coconut Grove with his wife Sharon and two children, Dovid and Shira.  He serves on the board of directors of Chabad of South Dade, Inc., which is a not-for-profit organization that operates a synagogue in the southern portion of Miami-Dade County, as well as the board of the Miami Jewish Legal Society.  He also serves on the national council and Miami executive council of AIPAC.

Mr. Budwick was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1992; He is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, as well as before the United States District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.
